This site is run by Roe Versus Weight, Los Angeles, California, USA ("we", "us"). We are the data controller for the personal data described here. Contact: debbie@roevweight.com.

Cookies and tracking

This site sets no cookies and uses no analytics, advertising, or tracking scripts. Nothing loads from third-party servers when you view the page. Because there is nothing to consent to, there is no cookie banner. If we ever add a tool that sets cookies, we will ask for consent first and update this notice.

One exception applies only if you use it: the subscribe form is delivered by Formspree, which may set cookies needed to run its own service. Its notice is at formspree.io.

What we collect, and why

• Subscribe form: your email address, how often you want to hear from us, which form on the page you used, and the fact that you ticked the consent box. Used only to send you the recipes and notes you asked for. Legal basis: your consent (GDPR Art. 6(1)(a)). You can withdraw it at any time by using the unsubscribe link in any email or by writing to us.
• Emails you send us: whatever you include, used to answer you. Legal basis: our legitimate interest in replying to correspondence (Art. 6(1)(f)).
• Hosting logs: the site is served by GitHub Pages, which records IP addresses in its server logs for security. We do not access these. GitHub's notice is at docs.github.com.

We do not collect special-category data. We do not profile you or make automated decisions about you.

Who we share it with

Only the processors we need to run the list: Formspree (form delivery), Amazon Web Services and Google (email hosting), and whichever service we use to send the recipes, named in every email it sends. We do not sell personal data and we do not share it for advertising. We disclose data to authorities only when the law requires it.

International transfers

We are in the United States, so your data is processed here. For subscribers in the EU, UK, or Switzerland, transfers to our processors are covered by their standard contractual clauses. For the data we hold ourselves, you gave explicit consent to the transfer when you subscribed, knowing we are in the US (Art. 49(1)(a)).

How long we keep it

• Subscriber email addresses: until you unsubscribe, then deleted within 30 days. We keep a record of the unsubscribe itself so we do not email you again.
• Correspondence: deleted after 12 months unless it relates to an ongoing matter.

Your rights

If you are in the EU, UK, or another place with data-protection law, you can ask us to access, correct, delete, or export your data, to restrict or object to processing, and to withdraw consent. Email debbie@roevweight.com. We answer within 30 days. You may also complain to your local data-protection authority. California residents have equivalent rights under the CCPA; we do not sell or share personal information as those terms are defined there.

Security

The site is served over HTTPS. The subscriber list is kept in access-controlled accounts.

Children

This site is not aimed at children and we do not knowingly collect data from anyone under 16.

Changes

We will post any change here with a new date at the top.
